Pille-Rite Rei, from Saaremaa, Estonia, studied voice and classical saxophone, earning accolades as a young musician. Guided by jazz guitarist Tiit Paulus, she pursued jazz saxophone at Georg Ots Tallinn Music College before discovering her passion for singing during walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
She honed her vocal and compositional skills at Skurups Folkhögskola in Sweden and later won the “Årets nye jazznavn 2016” award in Denmark. An exchange to Brazil led to collaborations with notable musicians (Roberto Menescal) and recording music (albums Augusto Mattoso “Modern Double Bass trio”, “Brazilian adventure”).
Now based in Denmark, her music blends American jazz, Scandinavian influences and Brazilian rhythms.
